How fast are the greens today?
OpenRoll is the first digital green-speed meter. Roll a ball across the green, film it from above with your phone, and read the green's speed in feet. No ramp, no tape measure.
Coming soon to the App Store and Google Play.
How it works
-
1
Hold the phone flat above the green
Hold the phone sideways and level at chest height, camera pointing straight down at the line. Keep it still while the ball rolls.
-
2
Putt from the circle into the box
Set the ball in the START circle and putt it along the arrow so it stops inside the box. Speed comes from how fast the ball slows down, not how hard you hit it.
-
3
Then putt it back the other way
Go to the ball and putt it back toward the circle, along the same line. Both directions together cancel out slope, and you get green speed in feet plus how much the line tilts.
Works with no signal
Everything is measured on your phone. It names the course you're on from course outlines built into the app, so it works on the far end of the property too.

Three free measurements
Try it on your own green. After three measurements, unlock unlimited measurements with a one-time purchase. No subscription.
Mind the Rules of Golf
Rolling a ball to test a green during a round is a penalty. Measure on the practice green, or outside a competition round.
